Abstract
In the past year, in response to emerging independent science on the 9/11
attacks, nine corporate, seven public, and two independent media outlets aired
analytic programs investigating the official account.
Increasingly, the issue is treated as a scientific controversy worthy of
debate, rather than as a “conspiracy theory” ignoring science and common sense.
This essay presents these media analyses in the form of 18 case studies.
Eight countries – Britain, Canada, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, New
Zealand, Norway and Russia – have allowed their publicly-owned broadcasting
stations to air the full spectrum of evidence challenging the truth of the official
account of 9/11.
This more open approach taken in the international media – I could also
have included the Japanese media – might be a sign that worldwide public and
corporate media organizations are positioning themselves, and preparing their
audiences, for a possible revelation of the truth of the claim that forces within
the US government were complicit in the attacks – a revelation that would call
into question the publicly given rationale for the military operations in Iraq,
Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
The evidence now being explored in the international media may pave the
way for the US media to take an in-depth look at the implications of what is
now known about 9/11, and to re-examine the country’s foreign and domestic policies
in the light of this knowledge.

We need as many people as possible who realize that time is running short for
us to truly affect change by commitment and dedication to humanity through the
end to the US Empire (and its subsidiaries).

A reader asked whether the U.S. is still in an official state of emergency,
and if so, what that means.
The answer is yes, we are still in a state of emergency.
Specifically:

On September 11, 2001, the government declared a state of emergency. That
declared state of emergency was formally put
in writing on 9/14/2001:

"A national emergency exists by reason of the terrorist attacks at
the World Trade Center, New York, New York, and the Pentagon, and the continuing
and immediate threat of further attacks on the United States.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America,
by virtue of the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution
and the laws of the United States, I hereby declare that the national emergency
has existed since September 11, 2001 . . . ."

That declared state of emergency has continued in full force and effect
from 9/11 [throughout the Bush administration] to the present.

I was among the several people arrested on Sunday, January 31,
while protesting outside the main gate of Vandenberg Air Force Base. The purpose
of my protest was to criticize the development, maintenance, and potential use
of nuclear weapons by the United States.

I believe the nuclear arsenal of the United States–the largest and most
advanced in the world–contributes to the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
Consider the perspective of countries like North Korea and Iran. If the most
powerful nation in the world with the greatest military capability finds it
necessary to maintain several thousand nuclear warheads, why shouldn’t
they have some? Moreover, the more prevalent nuclear weapons become, the more
likely terrorists are to obtain the materials needed to construct one.
On Sunday I was also protesting the American development of a space-based,
anti-missile defense system. This system undermines our previous and future
efforts at negotiating nuclear treaties with Russia and China. So my protest
on Sunday, at heart, concerned the security of the United States and the world.
The story of my arrest on Sunday (along with six other people) outside the
gate of Vandenberg Air Force Base, however, had nothing to do with the security
of our country–although we were cited for a “violation of a security
regulation” (50 USC Sec 797). If convicted, my fellow protestors and I
face a potential fine of $5,000 and up to one year in prison. The real story
of our arrests concerns the United States Constitution.

WASHINGTON – The White House revealed Thursday night it boosted funding for ailing 9/11 responders – pumping more money into the treatment program than ever before.

Team Obama disclosed the cash only after outraging New York lawmakers with the news that the administration won’t back a permanent plan to help the dying Ground Zero responders.

The White House confirmed it will more than double the budget for treating ill responders to $150 million in 2011.

The abrupt revelation came after the Daily News reported New York lawmakers were shocked Wednesday when Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said the administration does not support mandatory funding for the $11 billion permanent treatment plan.
