Today the New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN) filed its Memorandum of Law with the New York State Supreme Court, beginning a 6-day countdown until the historic March For Answers to be held on September 27 at 2pm. The march will start at Battery Park and work its way towards Ground Zero, the New York City Clerk and the State Supreme Court, before arriving at City Hall.

Engineers and Architects Argue About What Made the World Trade

One of the crucial technical disputes in American history, perhaps second
only to global warming, is underway. It pits hundreds of government technicians
who say the World Trade Center buildings were brought down by airplane impact
against hundreds of professional architects and building engineers who insist
that the Twin Towers could never have collapsed solely due to the planes and
are calling for a new independent investigation. It is a fight that is not going
away and is likely to get louder as more building trade professionals sign on
to one side or the other.

Better than anyone, David Ray Griffin understands the “enormous importance” of Richard Gage, the Bay Area architect and staunch Republican who founded Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911 Truth).
Griffin, the controversial retired Santa Barbara philosophy professor/theologian (Claremont School of Theology), is regarded as the leading investigative force within what is called the 9/11 Truth movement, with seven 9/11 books to his credit, including his bestseller The New Pearl Harbor. Although sometimes challenged (about accuracy), until Gage appeared, Griffin found his greatest stumbling block in public appearances to be this question: If his analysis was true — that two planes could not have brought down three World Trade Center (WTC) buildings without the aid of pre-planted explosives — why didn’t a single U.S. architect or building engineer publicly support him? Now, in three years, Gage has signed up 804 architects and structural engineers, some from top firms, who challenge the official version of the buildings’ collapses.

Two weeks ago America’s media, led by the Washington
Times and quickly followed by particularly vitriolic television personalities,
blasted Obama-appointed “Green Jobs” Advisor Van Jones for various
personal positions and actions taken over the course of his life as an activist.
Chief among them was his name being counted among signatories (Van Jones has subsequently denied that he ever signed the 2004 Statement)to a Statement
issued by 911truth.org in 2004 asking for answers to 9/11-related questions,
signed by 150 other “notable Americans” and 9/11 victims’ family members.
The ensuing blood bath did not involve Jones’ positions on “Green”
issues, for which he had been hired to advise – nor did the “Truther”
feeding frenzy ever ONCE involve mention of the 12 questions listed on that
Statement, questions which remain
unanswered now. Readers of 911truth.org
are aware of this media side-show, which eventually led to Jones’ resignation
on 9/12, and no doubt read the statement
we issued to the press in response to their calls:

As the eighth anniversary of 9/11 approaches, what doesn’t make sense to
us is that media outlets choose to impugn the character of the signatories
rather than carry out your responsibility as watchdogs to call attention to
the as yet unanswered questions raised in the 2004 statement. Five years later,
we challenge you to finally print those same unanswered questions and pursue
their answers with the same vigor with which you pursue the signatories.

Now, similar “news” coverage is attacking Golden Globe winning actor
Charlie Sheen, who dared to ask for a 20-minute meeting with President Obama
to discuss 20 points relating to – again – unanswered questions surrounding
9/11. Sheen produced a fictionalized piece, “Twenty
Minutes with the President” in which he sat down with “President
Obama” to asked about twenty of these yet unanswered questions. Bob McIlvaine,
whose son Bobby was killed on 9/11, has also joined with Sheen in requesting
this meeting with the president.

We STILL Want Real Answers About 9/11

On August 31, 2004, Zogby International, the official North American political polling agency for Reuters, released a poll that found nearly half (49.3%) of New York City residents and 41% of those in New York state believe US leaders had foreknowledge of impending 9/11 attacks and “consciously failed” to act. Of the New York City residents, 66% called for a new probe of unanswered questions by Congress or the New York Attorney General. Since that time, multiple professional polling organizations have obtained similar results in polls conducted nationally and internationally.

In 2004, 911truth.org assembled a list of notable Americans and family members of those who died who signed a 9/11 Statement, calling for “immediate public attention to unanswered questions that suggest that people within the current administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war.”

On the eighth anniversary of 9/11, in spite of Americans having elected the “other” party in hopes it would deliver on its promise of a change in direction, we find ourselves asking these same questions and encountering the same resistance to transparency. The ensuing wars have destroyed countless lives, our civil liberties (including habeas corpus) are in tatters, posse comitatus is history, and our economy lies essentially in ruin. Meanwhile, thousands of 9/11 responders who rushed to stand with America in its time of need are now sick — many dying — from the exposure to toxins at Ground Zero, receiving inadequate medical help or compensation in return. Because this issue is as relevant as the day we issued this Statement in 2004, we now offer again the opportunity to endorse this call for answers, and join with those who have already taken a stand.
